This weekly 75-min LIVE class is a workshop-style āsana practice. Over the course of six weeks, we will play within the postures (āsanas) of the Primary Series, as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in the Mysore-style Ashtanga lineage. Each session will begin with sūrya namaskāra to build heat (tapas) and cultivate concentration (dhāraṇā). Through the use of props, we will foster connection to the support (ādhāra) of certain shapes and foundational forms. Our aim is to open up possibilities via blocks, bolsters/pillows, blankets, straps or a belt, a chair, and even the walls of our home! If there are postures you are pondering, shapes you seem unable to sustain, frustrations interrupting your flow—let’s make use of scaffolding to find form, function, and freedom. By the end of the course, we’ll have explored more ground and activated our imagination to create a new toolbox for self-adjustments. Anchor your ability while waking up your creativity to move, breathe, and be.

This course is guided by Lindsay.
